On Thursday 6th July, we were thrilled to welcome a cohort of Year 6 students to spend the day with us at Goodwin Academy. A school transition day is a day when students experience their new year groups and subjects or, like in this case, visit their new school before starting in September. It is the perfect opportunity for students to get a feel of the school, trying out different lessons and getting to know the teachers.
The day started in the theatre, where students were put into groups, ready for a day packed full of activities and interactive lessons, including PE, Science and making cupcakes in Food Technology.
It was wonderful to see all of the students getting involved and enjoying their first introduction to Secondary School life.
We look forward to welcoming them back in September.
