Students at Goodwin Academy are celebrating after opening their A Level results
Today, students and staff at Goodwin Academy, located on Hamilton Road and part of Thinking Schools Academy Trust, are celebrating as this year’s A Level results are revealed.
The results recognise the commitment, ambition and determination shown by students throughout their sixth form studies and mark the beginning of exciting new opportunities as they prepare for the next stage of their journeys.
Alongside the school's overall success and the significant improvement in value added outcomes across applied subjects, many students achieved exceptional individual results, including:
Jared Ransley achieved outstanding results, gaining Double Distinction in Sport and a Distinction in Public Services. Jared is now going into the world of work before embarking on a career with Border Force.
Eloise Parnham accomplished fantastic results, gaining Distinction grades in Sport and Health & Social Care, an A grade in her Extended Project Qualification and a C grade in Criminology. Eloise will be progressing to study Sports Therapy at Bournemouth.
Callum Bakridan achieved a Distinction in music alongside C grades in History, Sociology and AS Mathematics. Callum will be taking a gap year before going to the University of Kent to study History.
Collecting her A-Level results today, Eloise, said:
"I'm thrilled with my results and proud of what I have achieved. I've worked hard throughout my studies and always aimed to do my very best in every subject. It's rewarding to see that dedication reflected in my grades. I'd like to thank my teachers and family for their support, and I'm excited to take the next step and begin my future studies."
Collecting his A-Level results today, Callum, said:
"I'm delighted with my results and proud of everything I've achieved. Staying focused on my goals and putting in consistent effort has helped me reach this point. These grades have given me great confidence as I move forward, and I'm excited about the opportunities ahead and starting the next chapter of my journey."
Collecting his A-Level results today, Jared, said:
“I’m really pleased with my results and proud to have achieved a Double Distinction in Sport and a Distinction in Public Services. Over the past two years, I have worked hard, stayed focused on my goals and made the most of every opportunity available to me. It’s rewarding to see that effort reflected in my results.”

“We are proud of the achievements of all our Year 13 students and the results they have secured this year. These outcomes are a testament to the hard work, commitment and determination they have shown throughout their studies. It has been wonderful to see students fulfil their potential and achieve success across a wide range of subjects. I would like to thank our dedicated teaching and support staff for the guidance and encouragement they have provided, as well as our families for their continued support throughout this journey. We are delighted to see our students progressing on to a range of exciting destinations, including university, apprenticeships and employment, and we wish them every success as they take the next step towards their futures."
