Options Process 2020/21
Since starting school this is the first time that our students have had the opportunity to take control of a significant part of their curriculum. Choosing option subjects for study in Key Stage 4 is an extremely important part of the year for the students involved. We therefore devote significant time to the process.
Year 9 students will continue to benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum, whilst tailoring their studies to allow for a range of further and higher education pathways, once they have completed Year 11.
Students in Year 9 will be required to choose options from one of the three Goodwin Academy Pathways:
Accelerate
- Selected from more able students for additional challenge
- EBacc curriculum with a language
Aspire
- Traditional options pathway designed to challenge
- EBacc curriculum with language optional
Achieve
- Selected students
- Bespoke curriculum offering opportunity and challenge
