School History

In 2017, Goodwin Academy is due to move in to a brand new, purpose built, three storey building based at the Mill Road Site. This means that the current eighty year old building will be demolished.

Before it’s demolition, as part of his A Level ICT course, Year 12 student Arran Powell has retraced the steps of the building and the people that made the school what it is today.

He has single handedly created a website showing the history of the school and how it has evolved through time.

From the day it opened it’s doors in January 1936, Arran has documented each step of the journey.
