Goodwin Academy Celebrates Strong Exam Results

Students at Goodwin Academy in Deal are celebrating their exam results today – winning them places at leading universities or on prestigious apprenticeships.

Among the numerous individual success stories are:

  • Hannah Brice – Hannah has successfully gained a place on the Special Educational Needs and Inclusion Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University. Hannah has had 100% attendance throughout her whole secondary and sixth form education.

 

  • Sam Kennett – Sam achieved a Distinction* in his Foundation Diploma in Engineering, alongside a B in A Level Geography. He now intends to take up a place to read Geography at Canterbury Christ Church.

 

  • Charlotte Millet – Charlotte’s hard work and drive to succeed was rewarded with three B grades in English Literature, Psychology and History. Charlotte will now take up her place at the University of Bath reading Education with Psychology.

 

  • Orla O’Hare – Orla has made exceptional progress during her time in Goodwin’s Sixth Form and now intends to join Reading University to read English Literature. She achieved C grades in A Level History and English Literature and a Distinction in her Business course.

 

  • Harry Smith – Harry worked extremely hard and is now in the process of completing his application for the Royal Navy for their Accelerated Apprenticeship in Marine Engineering.

 

  • Bradley Slade – Bradley made exceptional progress from his starting point at the beginning of Year 12. Bradley joined the sixth form on a Level 2 pathway but was encouraged to take up Level 3 qualifications to stretch and challenge him. Bradley achieved his GCSE English at the end of Year 12 and has now achieved three Level 3 qualifications in Public Services, Business and Health and Social Care. Bradley now takes up his place on a Primary Education course at Canterbury Christ Church University.

 

  • Xander Finnis, who following successful achievement of his Engineering Diploma, will now study Physics and Aeronautical Engineering at Salford University
